MB Aerospace Holdings Ltd has appointed Doug Loudon as Managing Director of its rapidly expanding UK engine component business.

Mr Loudon, who joined the company in August 2008 as general manager and was subsequently promoted to position of Director of Supply Chain Operations in May 2010, has been responsible for the growth of the company’s supply chain business at its Derby and Burnley facilities.

Mr Loudon will now take on an increased role within the MB Aerospace Group with responsibility for the strategic development of the business at the group’s four UK sites, including its manufacturing plants in Motherwell and Frome.

This includes establishing a comprehensive customer approach to further develop supply chain management and component manufacturing services with customers in Europe in particular.

Prior to joining MB Aerospace Holdings Ltd, Mr Loudon spent more than 20 years working for Rolls-Royce plc where he managed the supply of complex aero-engine components from world-wide providers and gained significant experience in Asia, creating an integrated supply chain in the region.

As part of his new position Mr Loudon will oversee the continued growth of the company’s supply chain business and engine component business in Europe and will work closely with his US counterpart to leverage global opportunities.

Craig Gallagher, chief executive of MB Aerospace Holdings Ltd, said: “Since his appointment in 2008, Doug has played a key role in strengthening and developing Supply Chain Management in the UK which has grown significantly to meet the demands of our European aero-engine customers.

“Doug also supported our acquisition strategy in the US and will now work closely with the Detroit-based business, Gentz Aero, to help maximise the synergies across the company as the group continues to grow its global customer base.”
